A contemporary muralist, installation artist, and writer—Chisten's artworks celebrate the extraordinary resilience of the people, plants and animals. As a part of her Kaleidoscope Series, The Coat that flies sometimes when no one is looking

”probes the boundaries between realism and abstraction, self and environment. I use different colors, materials and textures to embody the multidimensional worlds we inhabit. With a stencil and brush or patchwork fabric pieces, I weave together repetitive patterns and pulsing rhythms. The repetitive process provided a meditative and calming process during a tumultuous season of my life that culminated in the pandemic. Throughout this body of work, I seek to preserve a sense of wonder at the stubborn beauty of life.”
